Jennifer Lopez Slims Down, Completes First Triathlon!

Jennifer Lopez really is a super mom! Not only did the 38-year-old actress/singer just give birth to twins in February but she’s also been avidly training to run her first triathlon – a goal she completed on Sunday.

Jennifer LopezThe toned star finished the Nautica Malibu Triathlon in an impressive 2 hours and 23 minutes. The race consisted of a half-mile swim, 18-mile bike ride and 4-mile run – way to go Jennifer!

And Lopez wasn’t the only celeb fitness fanatic taking part in Sunday’s events. The new mom’s former co-star in The Wedding Planner, Matthew McConaughey, also competed in the race and finished in an unbelievable 1 hour and 43 minutes. Congrats to both!

Jenn and Matthew are just a few of Hollywood’s hottest celebs participating in physical fitness in their off-time.

Tom Cruise's main squeeze,Katie Holmes, also ran a 26.2 mile run in New York City last November with a final time of 5 hours and 29 minutes.

Everyone knows the best way to slim down is through exercise. These celebs are taking their health into their own hands and we encourage you to do the same!

Have any of you ever competed in a marathon/triathlon/biathlon? Care to share your experience?

I'm about a week into training for my first foray into traithalons. It's a little daunting, but monitoring my progress (or lack thereof) so far has kept me in line. I like to keep track of what I do in terms of exercise on a day to day basis and well keep an eye on what I'm putting into my body with food and exercise journals. It's been a force of habit ever since I got involved in athletics 12-years ago in HS. I recently was linked to a diet/workout tracker by a friend and have been using it to great joy and success. Check it out at fitclick.com if you're interested.
