Alli Diet Pill Book Launched

The makers of the first government-approved non-prescription weight loss drug have launched a book to help consumers maximize their weight loss potential by taking on a healthier lifestyle.

The book, Are You Losing It? Lose Weight Without Losing Your Mind, was born out of an agreement between GlaxoSmithKline, the nutritional supplement company that created the diet pill Alli, and the United States Food and Drug Administration. The federal food and drug regulator voiced concerns about the misconceptions consumers might have about how the pill actually works. The book, on supermarket and pharmacy shelves across the country, is meant to educate Alli users about the need for exercise and adopting a low-calorie diet.

Alli is expected to be available to the public this summer. The drug is designed to work by blocking the absorption of fat by the body and limiting the number of calories that are absorbed. Alli users are expected to lose up to 10 percent of their body weight when they use the pill in combination with a reduced calorie diet and an exercise program.

This Diet pill sounds good but two things come to mind. 1st is if this is going to be available without the use of a perscription does that mean that the drug company are going to put a high price on the product, making money out of peoples misery over their weight and a desperation to be an average size!! Without the use of a perscription could this be used by people who have eating / image disorders. At least a G.P. could hopefully cancel out this worry and monitor progress.

The other issue that I have is that this tablet sounds very simular to the product xenical, what is the difference? The side effects from xenical are not very nice, does this product have side effects? I would like all these issues answering before I would ever spend money on such a product. Just because im desperate to lose wieght soes not mean that im stupid.

i have been on the alli program for 10 weeks and have only lost 3 lbs. and i'm not very happy with the program. the pills are not that expensive and only taken when eating meals with fat. the side effects are not good if eating a mal with high in fat. alot gas and bowel movements with a nasty orangish oil coming from you. it is stated on the website and book. again, not happy with the program because i have done more than follow the program.

i'm 36 and the last 3 yrs i have done nothing but gain weight and i'm very flabby. i went from a toned 105 to a falbby 127. i exercise and eat well. low carbs, low calorie, low sugar, low fat. some say my metabolism is dead - wonder how i get it back because i can't figure it out.
