Avon, one of the world's largest and most successful cosmetic and skin care companies, has a weight loss pill. The product called VitAdvance Flat Stomach contains a probiotic blend that is designed to improve intestinal health and relieve gas and bloating, therefore making the stomach appear flatter.

Now I happen to be a big fan of Avon products, particularly lipsticks and foundations, but when it comes to miracle contouring and weight loss products I'm very skeptical. I tried the Anti-Cellulite and Stretch Mark cream after giving birth to my first baby with no results. Only jogging gave me back my pre-pregnancy shape. I also tried the Bust-Sculpt Contour Cream because, well, a girl can dream. Sadly, there was no change to my bust.

In theory, some people may benefit from Flat Stomach, particularly if they have digestive problems that cause gas and bloating. There are other causes of bloating, however, that may not be cured by a probiotic supplement. Some individuals are more susceptible to water retention that may only be remedied through diet and diuretics. Women are also prone to water retention during their menstrual cycle.

This isn't to say you should try Flat Stomach. It may work for you. But keep in mind that there are no miracle pills and weight loss is typically best achieved through diet and exercise.
