Remember when Janet Jackson had the best abs in the
industry? Who didn’t envy her sizzling six-pack as they struggled through
sit-up after sit-up?
Janet has been known over the years for her yo-yo diets and
weight loss rollercoaster ride. One day it seems she’s fit and trim, baring her
abs (and other body parts), and the next she’s covering it all up and looking a
little chunky. So what gives? Why does Janet’s weight fluctuate like the price
of gas? Rumors have been flying that she’s struggled with an eating disorder,
is addicted to plastic surgery (does it run in the family?) and even that she
secretly gave birth! It seems though, that an overpriced diet delivery program
just might have been one of her secrets.
It has been reported that Janet has recently dropped an
astonishing 60 pounds in four months! Even on the most extreme fad diets that’s
tricky to do. According to Janet, she gained the weight for an upcoming role in
a movie she was set to star in, and put her upcoming album plans on hold. But
once the movie role was out, and Janet was back at the studio, what motivated
her to drop the weight so quickly? Some sources have speculated that Janet was
pressured by her record label to drop the pounds, and was even threatened.
That’s some pretty tense motivation!
To get herself back in fighting form and reclaim that
coveted six-pack, Janet worked with her trainer and subscribed to a diet
delivery service - a new and increasingly popular trend in Hollywood. Janet consumed about 1000-1400
calories a day and ate buckwheat pancakes or scrambled eggs for breakfast,
salads with tuna or chicken for lunch and filet mignon or seared line-caught
salmon with lentils and fresh baby vegetables for dinner. Even with a diet that
great, you have to wonder if that’s all
she did to drop the weight at a speed that would amount to half a pound a day.
It’s highly unlikely, but she probably made a bundle simply for endorsing the
diet service. You still have to wonder, though, did she also ask Michael for a
referral to finish the job?
