Liquid Diet

Q: In Woman's World Magazine last year there was a liquid diet that used apple juice, cranberry juice, lemon juice, ginger, and cinnamon, I believe. Do you know what the proportions of the ingredients are, and did I remember the correct ingredients? - Eleanor

A: I was unable to find the exact diet. A liquid diet is not very advisable because the weight loss achieved by following it is rarely sustainable. The body feels starved because of a lack of nutrients and calories and goes into survival mode. Once you begin eating solid food again your body will start storing calories and fat. You could end up gaining more weight back than you lost.

Hi ....I remember that cranberry diet and it worked well.  It was more of a cleanse then a diet though.  The juice was brought to a boil along with the other ingredients and then simmered for awhile.  You had to drink at least 8 glasses of this a day ALONG WITH YOUR REGULAR MEALS.  I remember you had to eat a lot of things like beets and brussel sprouts and walk a minimum of 20 minutes a day.  Whewee did it ever work well. Alas...I lost the diet and am looking for the amounts and boild times too.
