Diet Information for Diverticulitis

Q: Can you provide some dietary recommendations for a person with diverticulitis?  - JW

A: A diet that is high in fiber and liquids is best for someone with diverticulitis. Products that contain psyllium fiber are best because they do not produce as much gas as some other types of fiber. Lean proteins, including vegetables and fish, are helpful as well. Avoid sugar, processed foods, greasy foods, spicy foods, red meat and dairy products.
